January 26:

(I am playing catch up after a week that has been a bit exhausting and a couple of weeks of not keeping track of what I’m doing, so I don’t remember anything unique about today.)

January 28:

I took the day off work to bake 6 pies. I originally planned out the timing for all of them, but once I started, I threw the timing out the window and decided to wing it. And this, ladies and gentleman, is why I’ll never be able to be anything other than a home baker. I literally let my fancies take me wherever they want.

January 31:

My oldest wanted to hang out with some friends tonight, so he asked if they could come back to the house and play Cards Against Humanity together. I told him it was fine, but his brother had just started a movie in the living room so he needed to let his brother finish the movie. After the movie was finished, the little one and I hung out in my room while the big boys played in the living room. They had a great time together and it was wonderful to hear their laughs through the walls. I know one day the house will be silent because the boys will be out on their own so I’m trying to cherish moments like this.

February 1:

Since it’s Saturday, I spent some quality time reading my book. I’m really enjoying it, but I just know that as soon as I can sit down and devote time to it, I will devour it. All requests to do anything will be ignored and I will fall into a world of wonder.

Tonight I hung out with some friends and played trivia to help support a band program in a neighboring town. We met up for a meal before and had a good time chatting before going to trivia. To say I killed it at trivia would be an understatement, but it’s always fun to field the question, “How do you know that?!?!” I don’t know. I just know it. I wish I had a better answer. We didn’t win, but I believe we finished in 4th place so that’s nothing to be ashamed about.

Two cherry, two peach, and two apple pies!
